Our full spectrum hemp extract is made from high-CBD, low-THC agricultural hemp, unlike medical and recreational marijuana products, which are made from plants with high concentrations of psychoactive tetrahydrocannabinol (THC). Because hemp contains only trace amounts of THC, our hemp extracts are non-psychoactive.

According to the National Institutes of Health (NIH), CBD is defined as follows:

“Cannabidiol (CBD) is the major nonpsychotropic cannabinoid compound derived from the plant Cannabis sativa, commonly known as marijuana. CBD was first isolated in 1940 and its structure and stereochemistry determined in 1963 [1,2]. Interest in exploiting CBD therapeutically was initially focused on its interactions with the primary psychotropic ingredient of Cannabis, Δ9-THC and its sedative and antiepileptic effects, and later its antipsychotic and anxiolytic actions and utility in treating movement disorders [3]. As chronicled elsewhere [3], the last several years have seen a renewed interest in CBD due to the discovery of its antioxidative, anti-inflammatory, and neuroprotective effects, actions that occur for the most part independently of the canonical cannabinoid CB1 and CB2 receptors [1,4]. CBD may prove to have therapeutic utility in a number of conditions involving both inflammation and oxidative stress, including Parkinson’s disease, diabetes, rheumatoid arthritis, Alzheimer’s disease, and ischemia-reperfusion injury.”

There are nearly 8,000 results when searching the NIH site for the term CBD (via published NCBI reports and abstracts), with more than 150 citations and reports on the positive impacts of CBD and/or Full Spectrum Extracts on the human body for treatment of conditions that range from Anxiety Related Disorders, Parkinson’s Disease, Spasticity disorders, Obesity and most notably relief of Inflammation and Pain disorders.

Pure Kind Botanicals offers products that are processed and extracted using the Pure & Kind extraction method, which is 100% natural and gentle.  We do not utilize fossil fuels in the process, so no propane, butane or CO2 is used in our extraction process.  As a result, we extract and isolate CBD to at least a 99% purity as well as the full spectrum of cannabinoids using a process that is gentle on the trichomes and cultivars, which leads to a more positive and natural experience when using our products.

Many people are familiar with cannabidiol (CBD), but there are actually dozens of cannabinoids found in various hemp.  All of our hemp extract products are made with full-spectrum hemp extracts, which includes all of the cannabinoids found in the plant, so you don’t miss out on any of the benefits.

In addition to the dozens of cannabinoids, hemp is a great source of essential vitamins, minerals, Omega fatty acids, flavonoids, chlorophyll and terpenes.

Molecularly, all classes of cannabinoid are derived from the cannabinoid cannabigerol (CBG). Cannabinoids are changed from their original acid forms by decarboxylation through heat, light, or alkaline conditions, allowing them to interact fully with the endocannabinoid system.

CBD: Cannabidiol

The most abundant cannabinoid in hemp extracts, making up to 90% of the cannabinoid content, cannabidiol or CBD is non-psychoactive and is the focus of the benefits from hemp. CBD has an affinity for CB1 or CB2 receptors, the main points of interaction for cannabinoids in the endocannabinoid system. Our high concentration extract oil is over 5% CBD, making it the most predominant cannabinoid in Pure Kind Botanicals™ products. All other cannabinoids come in under 0.4% by weight, with THC well under 0.3%

Other forms that may be present include:

CBD-C1: Cannabidiol-C1

CBD-C4: Cannabidiol-C4

CBDA: Cannabidiolic Acid

CBG: Cannabigerol

Cannabigerol is known as the stem cell cannabinoid for its role as a precursor to other cannabinoids found in hemp and marijuana. Previously overlooked as a significant cannabinoid, the role of CBG is becoming better understood, and companies like Medical Marijuana, Inc.’s AXIM® Biotechnologies are starting to research its potential. Because most CBG is transformed into other cannabinoids like CBD or THC by the cannabis plant, natural CBG levels are low in most processed cannabis plants.

Other forms present in our extract include:

CBGA: Cannabigerolic Acid

THC: Tetrahydrocannabinol (less than randomly designated legal maximum of .3%)

CBN: Cannabinol

Cannabinol results from the degradation of THC. There is little of it in the fresh plant, but decarboxylation often raises the amount of CBN in the plant as an effect. CBN is only mildly psychoactive and has a higher affinity for the CB2 receptor than the CB1 receptor, linking CBN to the body’s immune system. In hemp extract, CBN is present in levels of 0.2% or lower.

Other forms that may be present in our extract include:

CBN-C1: Cannabiorcol

CBN-C2: Cannabinol-C2

CBN-C4: Cannabinol-C4

CBND: Cannabinodiol

THC: Tetrahydrocannabinol

Tetrahydrocannabinol is the most abundant cannabinoid in most medical and recreational marijuana strains. However, in hemp THC is a minor constituent and appears only in trace amounts under 0.3% by dry weight, as required by the U.S. government for hemp products. THC mimics the action of anandamide, a neurotransmitter naturally produced in the human body, and binds to CB1 receptors in the endocannabinoid system found mostly in the brain. The extremely low levels of THC in hemp make hemp extract non-psychoactive and safe for all ages to use.

Other forms that may be present in our oil include:

THCA-A: Delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinolic Acid A

THCA-C1: Delta-9-tetrahydrocannabiorcolic Acid

THCA-C4: Delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinolic Acid C4

THCA-B: Delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinolic Acid B

THC-C1: Delta-9-tetrahydrocannabiorcol

THC-C4: Delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol C4

iso-THC: iso-Tetrahydrocannabinol

Other Minor Cannabinoids:

Along with the primary cannabinoids and their variants, there are a number of minor cannabinoids whose benefits have not yet been thoroughly studied. Even in low quantities, these cannabinoids interact with our native endocannabinoid system, and are present in our hemp extract.

CBC: Cannabichromene

CBL: Cannabicyclol

CBT: Cannabitriol

CBE: Cannabielsoin

CBR: Cannabiripsol

DCBF: Dehydrocannabifuran

CBF: Cannabifuran

CBCN: Cannabichromanon

CBT: Cannabicitran

Other Acidic Cannabinoids:

Like THCA and CBDA, there are other pre-decarboxylated forms of cannabinoids present in cannabis. Once exposed to heat, light, or alkaline conditions, these cannabinoids lose a carbon atom and take their common form. These cannabinoids are present in our raw forms of oil that have not been decarboxylated.

CBCA: Cannabichromenic Acid

CBLA: Cannabicyclolic Acid

CBEA-A: Cannabielsoic Acid A

CBEA-B: Cannabielsoic Acid B

CBNA: Cannabinolic Acid
